Daniel announced that it has been awarded LEED Gold for its Sixty 11th project in Midtown Atlanta. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.

Sixty 11th Street, a 20-story mixed-use building, in midtown Atlanta, was designed with the vision of becoming “a beacon for sustainability in the luxury residential real estate market”. Sustainability highlights include reducing water consumption to 30% better than code, recycling more than 90% of the construction waste, and locating the site near alternative transportation and basic services.

There are at least 10 basic services as well as numerous residential buildings within a ½ mile radius of the building. There are also multiple bus lines and a MARTA (light rail) station just blocks away, which promote alternative transportation to the building. Low-emitting vehicle parking and electric vehicle charging stations were added in the parking deck. An environmental site assessment was done and small amounts of asbestos were abated during demolition.

High-efficiency plumbing fixtures were selected, and the resulting water savings was a 30% reduction in potable water use over standard code fixtures.

An energy model was completed to assess the building’s energy performance. Improvements in the building envelope, an energy-efficient HVAC system, and energy-efficient lighting combined to help the building be over 15% more energy efficient than a standard code building.

More than 90% of the construction debris was recycled (over 4,300 tons). Sustainable materials were carefully selected throughout the project. Out of the total materials cost, 20% of materials contained recycled content and 66% were sourced regionally.

Other sustainable features of the project include: a non-roof heat island reduction, a high-performance green cleaning policy, and a green education program for residents.

The development is a venture between Daniel, Selig Enterprises and MetLife and was opened spring 2016.

New Midtown Hotspot Serves Authentic Spanish Cuisine in a Fun, Communal Setting

Bulla Gastrobar’s first Atlanta location, in the 12th & Midtown mixed-use development along Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta, opens for business on Monday, Sept. 25. Known for its fun, communal atmosphere, imaginative cocktail program and contemporary takes on traditional Spanish tapas, Bulla (pronounced “boo-ya”) is owned by Centurion Restaurant Group and has three successful South Florida locations.

“We’re very excited to bring Bulla to Atlanta,” says Centurion Restaurant Group founder and president Carlos Centurion. “This is a world-class city for food lovers, with some of the finest restaurants anywhere. We believe our emphasis on authentic, shareable Spanish cuisine in a communal setting will make Bulla a perfect addition to Atlanta’s culinary landscape.”

Bulla takes its name for the Spanish slang term for “chatter,” which neatly encapsulates the restaurant’s atmosphere. Like the famous gastrobars of Spain that inspire it, Bulla balances a fun, easygoing environment with creative cuisine that applies contemporary innovations to traditional Spanish tapas.

The menu boasts both small plates and larger signature entrées that feed two comfortably.

Highlights include paella (Valencia-style rice, seafood, red sofrito and saffron), braised short ribs (with tetilla cheese, potato foam, cipollini onions and red wine sauce) and salmón (with baby spinach, chickpeas and lemon cream). In addition to a monthly Market Menu that showcases a rotating selection of five to six unique dishes, desserts and a cocktail of the month, Bulla also offers guests a three-course tasting weekend brunch menu featuring $3 mimosas on Saturday and Sunday.

An imaginative drink menu will launch shortly after the opening and include handcrafted cocktails with syrups made from scratch, top-shelf beer and wine selections and three made-to-order sangrias – traditional, sangría blanca, and sangría de cerveza. It’s all served in an animated, expansive space with an urban loft vibe inspired by the tapas bars of Barcelona and a traditional Spanish marketplace. A large gather-around bar sits center stage, establishing a community atmosphere, and a second-floor event space beckons for parties and company dinners.

In the heart of Midtown right next to the Federal Reserve Building, Bulla is a convenient destination for exceptional cuisine. Within easy walking distance of MARTA’s Midtown station, many office buildings and popular retail and entertainment options, it’s a perfect spot for after-work drinks or a relaxing dinner with friends and loved ones.

Bulla Gastrobar is located at 60 11th Street NE in Midtown Atlanta and serves dinner daily, with brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Plentiful validated parking is available at 12th and Midtown. For more information, call 404-900-6926 or visit bullagastrobar.com.

Professionals of all ages have another great leasing option in Atlanta today, with the grand opening of one of its most prominent developments, Sixty 11th, which has announced it’s now leasing all studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Sixty 11th is a brand new development in the heart of Atlanta’s CBD, offering a unique urban luxury lifestyle with exclusive access to all of its best restaurants, not to mention the city’s vibrant entertainment scene.

“Sixty 11th is unique in that it’s one of the few modern luxury developments located in Atlanta’s inner city neighborhood suited to the needs of today’s urban professional,” explained Jim Spahn, Director of Multi-Family Operations at Daniel Corporation, the developer behind the project.

“With numerous upscale amenities coupled with the location, residents will be able to experience Midtown without having to get behind the wheel,” Spahn added, noting the building’s excellent walkability.

“The Sixty 11th location offers unmatched walkability and the features and amenities package certainly exceeds resident expectation,” Spahn continued.

When asked why urban dwellers might want to choose Sixty 11th over one of the other scores of luxury condo developments in Atlanta’s CBD, Spahn explained that there is a distinction. He pointed out that most Atlanta condos are sold to private owners, which means rents are not so easy to come by. But Sixty 11th is exclusive in that it only offers luxury apartments for lease in a city where such options are few and far between.

“A lease is attractive based on the mobile careers and lifestyles and personalities of those that desire the urban location,” Spahn told me. “It’s an ideal option for anyone that enjoys the urban lifestyle.”

The features of the property certainly put it at the high end of the city’s luxury rental options. What with each apartment fitted with Energy Star appliances, quartz countertops, designer fixtures, USB charging outlets, floor-to-ceiling walls and offering stunning panoramic views of Atlanta’s gorgeous cityscape, residents can enjoy the very best that the modern, urban lifestyle affords. Sixty 11th is a gigabyte-connected facility too, meaning it’s able to accommodate heavy streaming users. “The design of the building also helps to contribute to a great community atmosphere within the place too,” Spahn told me.

“The amenity deck is unmatched and is designed for maximum interaction amongst residents with many different types of community areas including a saltwater pool with tanning ledges, a waterfall, lush landscaping, outdoor fireplaces, multiple grilling stations and outdoor dining areas,” he related. “There is also an amenity area containing a club room, game room, and fitness center, with terrific city views.”

Sixty 11th’s apartments are available to lease now, with monthly rates starting at $1,638 for studio apartments, $1,771 for one-bedroom homes, $2,844 for two-bedroom homes and $3,879 for three-bedroom homes. Check out the website for more information, or call 844-872-2857 to book a viewing.
